On Saturday (December 10th), Hoakalei Cultural Foundation Board Members, staff and friends hosted a holiday fundraiser to support the foundation’s annual scholarship fund. Beautiful Christmas wreathes made from native plants growing in the Kuapapa Preservation area. Kauna‘oa pehu was twined to make the backing, and ma‘o, pōhinahina, ‘ilima, and runners of the kauna‘oa pehu were used to create the beautiful greenery of the wreathes. Twenty-five tickets were pre-sold at $20.00 each, and all went quickly. The wreath sale raised $500.00 for the 2017 Hoakalei Cultural Foundation Scholarship. Wreathes were picked up at Hale Pono Clubhouse. Mahalo nui to the many hands, Hale Pono staff and those who supported this event. Aloha Kalikimaka - Lono i ka Makahiki!
